Running Effective Meetings
Fundamental skills for beginners

This foundation-level workshop introduces participants to the basic skills and techniques necessary for leading effective meetings. Through an interactive process in which participants work on their own real-life meeting, skills are introduced and practiced. Participants learn how to:

  • Engage participants in the process
  • Manage nervousness
  • Set clear context and expectations
  • Be clear and concise while presenting information
  • Layout (and stick to) a logical agenda
  • Listen and respond respectfully
  • Encourage and control discussions
  • Manage difficult people and situations
  • Close the meeting by setting next steps and assigning responsibilities

Running Effective Meetings includes pre-work, 3-months access to eCoach as well as reusable job aids and reference materials for applying what’s learned in class to situations learners face outside of it.
